OAPEN and DOAB 2024 Highlights published
OA book publishing is accelerating at a high pace and OAPEN and DOAB’s activities in 2024 are evidence of this
OAPEN and the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) have published a joint 2024 Highlights report, detailing their activities and achievements in 2024. This revised version of the report, which replaces the previous format of stakeholder reports, is intended to inform OAPEN and DOAB’s stakeholders about their activities and achievements which they supported throughout the year.
Last year was a remarkable year for growth of OAPEN and DOAB, the use of our services, the project results we have helped achieve, our new partnerships, and our international engagement. The 2024 Highlights report is evidence of this.
The 2024 Highlights is divided into seven sections: A message from the Director, Niels Stern; OAPEN and DOAB in numbers; Partnerships; Technical development; Projects; Research and publications; and Finances. You can easily navigate to any of these sections by clicking on the links at the top of the page.
In this report, you will find lots of graphs and data showing the growth of the OAPEN Library and DOAB over the last five years. We’re delighted to feature comments from many of our partners, old and new, including CERN; UKRI; OPERAS; Thoth Open Metadata; and Invest in Open Infrastructure. We also share links to articles published in 2024 that provide additional context to the activities.
The online version is intended to improve the accessibility of these reports. You can view previous versions of our annual stakeholder reports (as previously named), alongside OAPEN management reports, in our Annual Reports section of the website. A PDF and print version will be published alongside this online version at a later date.
We at OAPEN and DOAB hope you enjoy reading what we achieved and invite you to contact us with any questions about what you read using the contact button on the websites.
